A Busy Weekend at the CA GOP Convention 2016
The work has started and we do get to see democracy and rules in action. We had all three Presidential candidates speaking to us (as will Carly Fiorina on Saturday night). California will have a huge impact on the Presidential race and our 172 delegates may decide the party nominee in Cleveland. But while Presidential politics is always important and fun we will also be deciding many issues that have an impact on California and our many great candidates in many down ticket races
The day began with the most inspiring pledge of allegiance I’ve ever heard. Colonel Robert Stirm, Vietnam veteran and 5 year prisoner of war reminded us how his thoughts about our flag in his cell kept him inspired during his imprisonment. They also tapped the morse code for G B U every night between cells. It was code for GOD BLESS YOU to fellow prisoners. Our standing ovation was not close to showing him the deep appreciation and heartfelt sentiments we felt but it was a great way to start the day. This is the photo of him coming home “Burst of Joy” that won a Pulitzer Prize. #truehero #vietnam #POW #thankyou #gratefulcountry#cagop #leadrightca #gopconvention #inspired #guerrasighting
